Remedies Using Fennel Seed

Clinical studies done on animals found that fennel seed extract which comes from the fennel plant or foeniculum vulgare is good for eye health. It has the potential in treating glaucoma which is a group of eye diseases which can lead to optic nerve damage and cause blindness.

Fennel tea is commonly used as an eye wash. A combination of fennel with chamomile or eyebright or also known as euphrasia is a common remedy for soothing tired and dry eyes. Fennel tea is also used as a remedy for conjunctivitis.

Taking fennel extract as a supplement either in the form of fennel oil or fennel capsules will support regular and healthy menstrual cycles and prevent premenstrual syndrome or PMS including moodiness.


Fennel oil which is the extract of the seeds may also support in the production of breast milk. The breast milk in turn supports healthy digestion in babies.
