Magnesium Sulfate or Epsom Salt Uses and Benefits
Epsom salt derived its name from the place it was discovered in the town of Epsom in Surrey, England. It is a common household and gardening product. It is used as a cleaning agent, fertilizer, pest control and as home treatment for weak battery.
It is scientifically known as magnesium sulfate because it contains magnesium and sulphate and also oxygen. Each of this chemical substance has its own benefits and uses and the combination of MgSO4 makes Epsom salt a powerful natural healing compound.
Magnesium is involved in regulating the activity of more than 300 enzymes and it is very crucial in the structure and function of the body. But like many other oral laxatives, you shouldn't abuse the use of laxative even if it is a natural substance because it will cause loss of lots of fluid from your body. This can lead to dehydration and if and when your brain receives the message that you are lacking fluid, it would trigger your body to retain water and it can then lead to edema.
