Bad Breath Remedies

Before trying any of these bad breath remedies, find out the causes of bad breath or halitosis first so that you can rectify the root problem. Is your problem the common morning breath? Is it only after you eat something pungent? Or is it a persistent and chronic bad breath?

The morning breath happens upon waking up from sleep. If you don't brush your teeth and clean your tongue before you sleep, food residue will remain in your mouth. The bacteria that are in your mouth and throat will feed on the food residue. These bacteria emit sulfur compounds and cause the morning breath.

Furthermore, when you sleep, your salivary glands don't produce as much saliva because you aren't ingesting anything. The bacteria that are feeding on the debris aren't interrupted. The remaining saliva in your mouth may flow out as there isn't any tongue movement. When you are in deep sleep, your tongue will fall to the back at your throat. The bacteria in the throat will feed on the debris on the tongue.
